Disney Way Strategic Planning Principles

Walt Disney attributed his success to the following four principles:

Dream – Walt Disney made a practice of envisioning the untried and impossible.

Believe – Walt understood that success comes from the entire team sharing a unique set of values.

Dare – Walt did not follow in the footsteps of others, sit on the sidelines, or take the safe and unimaginative approach to providing unique “magical moments” for his guests.

Do – Walt was a master at creating plans that inspired the entire team to act. The result: a legendary organization with guests who return year after year to relive the magic that Disney created!

We adhere to these principles in our strategic planning workshops. The following outcomes are expected:

Believe – The Values that guide your decisions; Codes of Conduct model exceptional customer-centric behaviors; identified customer service strategy/measurements to create unique “magical moments” for customers

Dare – Identified barriers to achieving the Dream
